Celebration London 2023

Celebration is the Mecca for any Star Wars fans – 2020 was cancelled and I could not make it to 2022 since I was still under travel restrictions. I made it to London which gave me mixed feelings: I did not like the show as much as I used to; I did not like the flow of people, the main floor was too scattered so it almost felt empty of large props …. so so many people and the interaction with costumers is almost non existent (or so I felt.

That being said it was absolutely awesome to meet so many friends and prop makers I had not seen in so long- the after show gathering were proper fun and they made the trip so worth it. I got to drink and eat with some of the most prolific troopers, and amazing prop makers in the community; something I was longing for.

I got tho get a couple of very unique autograph:
Andy Serkis as Kino Loy on my Narkina suit. I showed up in a cross over Captain Haddock (Tintin) and Han Solo. He voiced Haddock in the movie and I knew he loved the character; being Belgian it made all the sense in the world. He did love the suit ( I handed him one for himself) – he signed mine and the exchange was nothing but smiles, pleasantries and good vibes

Katee Sackhoff ; I got her to sign my holly grail book of costumes. I originally did not planned for it but I ended up breaking my own rule (which I am tempted to do again if the occasion rises) of only featuring OT actors on the book. So I took the Boba Fett page, and asked her to sign “Frak This – Starbuck” she did ask me twice if that was really what I wanted before happily going through with it and I love it !

Doug Chiang happened to pass by when I was walking back to my hotel; I had already removed the zombie mask but then I did ask “If I put it on, we get a pic together?” to which he enthusiastically answered “Absolutely!”
