Ethos and Responsibility

Too many times, we still see derogatory comments or borderline bullying happening online by individuals who identify as members of the 501st. Their profiles clearly indicate their affiliation, sometimes even …

MrV

For the past 12 years I have been an active member of the global costuming communities known as the 501st Legion and the Rebel Legion. My passion took over my worklife and I eventually quit Academia in 2014 to focus on developing a project to support the community

A magnificent journey into the world of costuming, making, community building, outreach and pure geekdom is what my life has been since then.

At nearly 50, I am once again reconnecting with my love of learning as a doctoral researcher looking at how the concept of "identity" is evolving .

SciFi-Holic

If one’s life is shaped through powerful experiences and some key defining moments; one such moments happened to me in spring 1980 when I stepped in a cinema to watch Empire Strikes Back. It also happened every Wednesday afternoon when watching Star Trek TOS at my grand'ma after school…

Their combined influences both visual and philosophical have been foundational blocks to my creative career and life in general.

They were my first steps in the larger world of SciFi which helps me make sense of our world as we enter what I firmly believe is the crossroad of human evolution as foretold by so many screenplays.

In a Future Near You

Welcome to my world, a megacity of nearly 30 millions people living in communities defined by gated towers of apartments; where languages and dialects mixes, where the world culture meet and merge.

I live in a world where cash in no longer used, where the digital and physical self are closer than ever, where I am able to have a conversation with my vehicle while they zip through silently.

I live in a place where everything exists on demand, where interactions are mostly digital; from the daily conversation, to grocery shopping, to entertainment, to dining… where the very physicality of life could be questioned.

Welcome to Shanghai.
